Overall Conduct

Convention staff has the final authority on what is and is not acceptable in convention spaces. Repeat offenders may be required to forfeit their badges and leave convention areas. Remember that you are a guest of both the convention center and that there are other guests utilizing these same facilities. Be courteous, and do your best to treat other guests respectfully. If the convention center or hotel staff or security make a request of you, follow their instructions or your badge may be forfeited. We're all here to have a good time, so please act responsibly.


Liability at Anink Ink Con

Anime Ink Con, its staff and its affiliates are not responsible for any loss, damage, theft, or injury occurring during the convention. Attendees are wholly responsible for their individual actions and any repercussions that may result. Staff is on hand for assistance in any situation, and will be glad to help in any way they can. Civil or medical emergencies will be handled by the appropriate agencies. Any lost parcels or unattended packages will be taken to the Savannah Convention Center Information Desk. Questions regarding lost or misplaced items will be redirected to the building’s information desk as stated previously. 


Harassment and Assault

Harassment is generally any behavior that intentionally annoys or alarms another person. This includes any unwanted physical contact, following someone around a public area without a legitimate reason, or otherwise infringing on their personal liberties. Assault is legally defined as the threat or use of force on an individual that causes the individual to have reasonable apprehension of imminent harmful or offensive contact. Neither harassment nor assault will be tolerated at Anime Ink Con. Please remember that if you approach someone and they tell you ‘no’ or to leave them alone, your business with them is done. If you do not leave them alone as they have requested, your actions may be grounds for a complaint of harassment. If you feel that you are being harassed or have been assaulted, report the matter immediately to convention staff, security staff, or the Savannah Police Department. Offenders will be required to leave the convention and may be liable for criminal charges as well. We recommend that all harassment be reported immediately.


Merchandise and Shoplifting

Be sure to keep your receipts with your purchases at all times. We know things can get crowded and busy (especially in the Exhibit Hall), but please wait your turn and pay for the things that you buy. Shoplifting will not be tolerated, and will be handed over to the proper authority – shoplifters will be prosecuted at the discretion of the vendor or artist that was stolen from, and personal theft will be addressed and a police report will be created.


Outside Food and Beverage

There is no food from outside sources allowed in the Savannah Convention Center. Only food purchased in the convention center is allowed on the property.


Animals

In general, animals are not permitted inside the Savannah Convention Center except for the following instances:

  1. Service animals, which the Americans with Disabilities Act defines as a dog that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability. The task(s) performed by the dog must be directly related to the person's disability. The dog must be trained to take a specific action when needed to assist the person with a disability. Emotional support, therapy, comfort, or companion animals do not qualify as service animals under the ADA. Also, service animals in training are not considered service animals under the ADA.

  2. Animals that are part of an exhibit, display or performance will be permitted on a case-by-case basis and as approved by facility and show management.

All sanitary needs for animals are the responsibility of the handler, and the animal must remain in the control of the handler at all times.


Dress Code Policy
  • Clothing cannot show less than what a typical swimsuit covers (standard bikini, trunks, etc.)

  • Private parts must be covered in an opaque material that will not slip or have gaps.

  • Shoes must be worn at all times. Bottoms of feet must be fully covered.

  • Attendees may not wear a uniform that can be mistaken for official medical, police, SWAT, FBI, or other law enforcement agencies.

  • No hate symbols are allowed.

  • Attendees with bulky costumes, costumes that obscure the vision, or costumes with large extensions such as wings or spikes, should have a designated “handler,” to assist them through the hallways and crowds.


Prop / Weapons Policy
  • ANY prop or weapon may be subjected to weapons check at the discretion of our staff, convention center staff, or law enforcement.

  • Props are defined as any item carried as part of a cosplay not designed to represent a weapon and carried as an augmentation to the costume.

  • Prop weapons are inert items that are designed to appear as a weapon either fantastic or realistic. Prop weapons do not include actual weapons whether they are authorized, or peace bonded.

  • No heavy metal objects are allowed.

  • No sharp edges of any material are allowed.

  • Any item that poses a potential safety hazard may need to be removed from the convention. This includes any costume, prop, or accessory that obstructs doors or hallways, or otherwise poses any kind of danger to other attendees, staff, or convention space property.
